My name is Lauren. Im Australian by birth but grew up as an MK in West Africa (with a lot of North American influences). I currently live near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia with my growing family. We have four beautiful daughters in alphabetical order! Were concerned about peak oil and the pending global energy crisis. So after we sell our house, we are heading to a rural property in New Zealand to make the next step to a self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle. We would like our children to develop a lifelong love of learning and will keep them at home (unschooling them) instead of sending them to an institution. (This can be construed as an extreme over-reaction to my twelve years of boarding school)David and I believe that we are the church, and so we are transitioning to an unchurching lifestyle. This means that we meet together with other believers outside of the traditional Sunday morning gathering, and share the love of God with whomever he brings us into contact. Its certainly an adventure!I blog to remember these years of my childrens lives, to add my voice to the internet murmur and to give myself something to do apart from the washing and wiping down the kitchen counters.I keep an open house. Anyone is welcome to drop by anytime! This means youll take us as you find us neat, messy, well-behaved or not. But were real, and this blog is too. Subscribe or browse through the archives, and youll see what I mean.

So, I am 38, and want to be a mum. Nothing that unusual about it. I'm the quintessential modern family. One mum, one female partner, one dad, one male partner. There are plenty of blogs about that so it shouldn't pull you in much. I do love writing though, and am just looking for a place to do it. Join with me as I journey towards motherhood on the loopy hormonal ride that is IVF!

The musings of a 20-something mother, who thinks too much, and is not very good at cooking or sewing or making beautiful things. Despite my best efforts.Oh, and amongst all my ramblings, you can join me on my soapbox, as I begin my crusade to find out about the cause (should that be curse?) of childhood allergies. What on earth is going on? And why don't doctors have a clue?

A boy and a girl meet in the summer at the base of a big old tree. They are inseparable from this moment. Come winter the girl has a small bud in her belly, beginning to blossom in to half him and half her. Before long a baby boy is born and their lives are thrown into a flurry of nappies, nipple shields and night time feeds. Some days they cry, laugh and scream, yet they'd have it no other way. He may only be little in stature, but there's no doubt now that their house, is little Harry's house. This is a blog about life's suprises, living like there's no tomorrow, and learning that love makes the world go round - often a little faster than you expected. Enjoy.
