The National Broadband Network is essential to the development of many new business models. It will support decentralised and flexible working arrangements. It is expected to not increase local costs and the speeds will go up substantially.

A read of Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge shows what the Internet might become in 20 years time and how it will enable progress in ways we cannot possible implement now. The future of the Internet is a more connected world with much better synergy allowing new solutions to be found and new value and income models.
